Saunders Waterford High White paper

The Saunders Waterford range of papers has just got better with the introduction of their new high white paper. On comparison it is much whiter than their traditional brand and only a half shade from the stark whiteness of their Bockingford range which is a brilliant white paper giving the brightest possible results with watercolour.  The combination of cotton based handling qualities with a brilliant white surface has to be a positive step forward in the history of St Cuthberts Mill paper making.  To really test its whiteness I painted a snow scene on a sunny day. The clarity from this paper is superb and it handles exactly as you would expect from a top quality watercolour paper allowing multiple layers to be laid down without lifting the colours underneath too easily.  I often choose to use a Bockingford paper purely for its whiteness but this paper has the whiteness and more.

Opinion

A fantastic quality range of watercolour papers that I would recommend to anyone.
