This year Paul is tutoring one of his own popular painting weekends in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales village of Clapham. It was here in 1939 that the Dalesman magazine started. Surrounded by pot holes and caves, Clapham is the nearest village to Gaping Gill and is home to the Cave Rescue Association. At the centre of the village runs Clapham Beck, which starts life high on the slopes of Ingleborough. It plunges to subterranean depths, emerging to run down into the lake, over a waterfall and through the village, passing beneath four bridges. There is a wealth of painting material here from the tranquil beck and its bridges to traditional dales architecture, meadows, waterfalls and a lake.
Clapham Village Hall has good facilities, wheelchair access and parking. The cost of the weekend is from £85.00 per person. Please note that this does not include accommodation or meals which leaves you free to choose where you stay. Non painting partners are most welcome. Some suggested accommodation details along with further information will be sent to you at the time of booking.
